Process & Project Management

Before We Start

Before we start a project, we will sit down with you and your architect/designer to walk through the entire project. We will:

  • Discuss the details, timing and affected areas of your home
  • Explain how we protect your living space during construction
  • Develop a realistic budget that fits your lifestyle and expectations

Communication During Construction

  • Weekly Meetings: We conduct regularly scheduled weekly meetings updating you on the past week’s work so everyone stays on the same page.
  • Daily Communication: We provide daily communication for things that cannot wait, such as changes in progress or unforeseen issues.
  • Meeting Attendees: A typical weekly meeting includes: client, CES Construction personnel, architect, designer, and any relevant subcontractors or vendors.

Project Management

  • Allowances: Some line items are called Allowances – items you make selections on during construction. We provide educated estimates based on past experience, but exact costs depend on your specific choices for finishes, styles and project scope.
  • Change Orders: When unforeseen conditions arise or you want to change the scope of work, we present a Change Order (Work Authorization Form). You review and sign off on all changes before work begins.
  • Profit and Overhead: This line item covers all overhead expenses including rent, vehicles, office supplies, personnel, insurance and other business expenses. This ensures we can continue offering competitive quality services.
  • Contracts: We produce attorney-drafted contracts that are legally binding agreements for your project. Contracts must be reviewed and signed before any work begins.
